1:1 Somatic Experiencing Sessions
A space for emotional integration, body-led curiosity, and restoring inner and outer coherence
In-Person (Waterloo) or Online
What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to trauma resolution that works with the nervous system rather than the story alone. Trauma is understood not as what happened, but as what the body was unable to process at the time. In this work, we track sensations, impulses, emotions, supporting the body in completing stress responses that were once interrupted.
Our work together can support…
Gently unwinding held patterns of survival, tension, or overwhelm stored in the body
Strengthening your ability to sense boundaries, needs, and internal cues
Restoring a felt sense of regulation, choice, and embodied self-trust
Cultivating a felt sense of presence and belonging in your body, your life, and the world
Deepening connection to your core identity and personhood
Expanding your capacity for pleasure, vitality, and aliveness
Ayesha Nobes | Somatic Practitioner
Hello! I’m happy you found your way here. I am a trauma-informed somatic practitioner integrating Somatic Experiencing® and parts work (IFS-informed) in a slow, relational, and co-created process. I support adults navigating the impacts of developmental and relational/interpersonal trauma, including those healing from childhood abuse, sexual trauma, anxiety disorders, chronic pain and fibromyalgia, grief, and challenges with self-worth. My work invites a deep reconnection to the body’s innate wisdom and supports nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and embodied self-trust.
This work gently supports you in tracking sensations, completing survival responses, and restoring a felt sense of safety and presence. It’s not about fixing, it’s about listening to the body’s wisdom and allowing what’s been stuck to move, alchemize, and integrate at a pace that honours your unique nervous system. Together, we listen to the body’s subtle cues, and make space for what's ready to unwind, express, or shift.
In addition to somatic dialogue based work, I also offer gentle somatic touch/table work to support nervous system coherence and repair. For returning clients, I offer somatic art sessions, where we explore creative expression through mixed media art as a way of giving form and voice to what’s been alive within.
My professional foundation is rooted in trauma-informed yoga therapy, Somatic Experiencing® (SEI), registered massage therapy (RMT), and medical acupuncture. Though I am not currently active in my RMT or acupuncture practice, these modalities have shaped my understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the body’s capacity for healing with compassion.

Support your nervous system to meet life with more steadiness and embodied self-trust
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I ask clients to commit to bi-weekly sessions for a minimum of 8 weeks. This supports continuity, accountability, and allows enough time for the work to unfold and for new patterns to begin taking root.
There is no requirement to pay upfront or pre-book sessions in advance. The commitment is relational and honour system based — an agreement to show up consistently for the process during that initial period. After 8 weeks, we can revisit pacing and frequency together.
-
I don’t offer session packages. This work is relational and therapeutic in nature, and it isn’t designed to follow a preset structure or outcome. Rather than moving through a set number of sessions with a fixed endpoint in mind, we move at the pace of your nervous system. Sessions unfold based on what your nervous system is ready for, in that moment.

I understand that life happens and plans sometimes need to shift. I ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions missed without adequate notice will incur a $50 fee.

Typically no. However, if you have extended health coverage that includes “Yoga Therapy”, you may be able to submit sessions for reimbursement (since I am a certified member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists).
