Your NO births your YES ❀
Did you know that learning your NO can help birth your YES?
When you know what you don’t want, what you’re no longer willing to invite in, what feels like a hard stop for you, it carves a path forward for your joyful, pleasure-filled YES ✨✨✨
This is especially important to explore Subscriber First Name if you are the woman who always says yes to everything (even when your cup is empty) and have a hard time knowing where to draw the line… then later on simmer in the icky gooey soup of resentment 🤢 yuck.
I am guilty as charged on this one! Fawning is a pattern I know alll too well, and I’ve habitually participated in this pattern for most of my life. Fawning can be simply defined as merging with the needs/desires of another person (or people) because it doesn’t feel safe enough to have your own needs and desires. We over-commit, we appease, we are afraid to say no in fear that we’ll be disliked, or pushed out of the “group”.
Things started to really shift for me when I learned my NOs, learned the ability to track what a no feels like in my body, and developed skills in communicating my no with those around me in a loving yet firm way. The more and more I engaged in this new way of relating, the more energy, clarity, curiosity, confidence, creativity, and love I liberated in my own self.
And, as part of my on-going commitment to be really real here in this space, I’ll admit that I still “slip up” (so-to-speak) all the damn time. It’s Friday, and I’ve probably fawned 10 different times this week 😅
The thing is, fawning is an innate survival tactic, and anything that has helped us to survive was, at one point, a very necessary behaviour… SO, instead of shaming this behaviour (which is never helpful), we can develop compassion for it, thanking it for at one point saving us.
This work is not about dismissing these behaviours as “wrong” or “bad”. This work is being able to discern when they’re truly necessary, or if we’re engaging in these behaviours out of habit, even when no longer needed! Awareness overtime creates choice, and choice creates a change in patterns.
When we start to zoom out and see different choice points, we reclaim more sovereignty ❤️🔥 and our ability to change tracks increases as we carve a new way forward for ourselves.
This is exactly what we explored in my October women’s embodiment container, She Rises, on Tuesday evening. We turned the dial up on healthy aggression expression, moved and grooved through primal movement practices, and felt our DEEP, UNSHAKABLE, NOs from the gut! And now next Tuesday, we’ll be exploring our YES, and reclaiming our birthright to feel the GOOD.
And, if this has sparked something within you… if you’re curious about diving into fawning habits and creating the ability to viscerally and somatically FEEL new choice points for yourself, you know where to find me ↓↓
I run my private practice out of a ✨ beautiful ✨ and spacious office Uptown Waterloo. And, I have exciting news to share with you!

If you’re not local and curious about exploring online sessions together, I want to share that this work is just as powerful online. Truly. I see my own somatic therapist exclusively online, and we do some deep work together in that space 💞
