Your name holds power ♡
What if the most powerful affirmation was… your name?
Your name holds power.
Your name is your unique vibration.
Your name is who you are.
It’s tether to your identity. A sacred signal to your system.
From a neuroscience perspective, your name is deeply encoded in your brain. Especially in areas linked to identity, attention, and self-perception. It’s often one of the very first sounds your nervous system learns to associate with you. When someone says your name (especially when you say your own name) it activates your orientation system. Your attention sharpens. Your brain registers it as “this is about me.”
It creates a moment of presence
Speaking your own name out loud can be a powerful way to claim your presence — to anchor into your body and orient back to yourself.
I have a beautiful practice to share with you today
🌹 Stand in front of a mirror 🪞
🌹 Lovingly meet your own gaze
🌹 Say out loud: “I am ___________ (your name)”
Pause. Breathe. Feel. Open to what’s arising - don’t rush this part! It’s not just about speaking your name, it’s feeling what arises in your body in the space after.
🌹 Then when you’re ready, speak it again “I am ___________ (your name)
This might feel silly or awkward at first, and that’s ok!
Repeat this process 3-5 times, taking time to pause after each repetition to truly receive your words.
Notice what stirs in you - the sensations, the emotions, the energy that arises. Let it move. Let it be witnessed. Let it be known by you.
This is an incredibly powerful way to OWN who you are and root deeper into your own centre. Developing a felt sense of SELF that is grounded, clear, and unshakable.
Here’s why it works:
🔌 Your nervous system is wired to respond to your name. Even in a crowded room, if someone speaks your name across the space, your ears perk up. Your body orients. Your awareness shifts.
❤️🔥 When you speak your own name aloud with reverence, it becomes an act of self-devotion. Of embodiment. Of power. Of presence. Of coming home to yourself ❤️🔥
And on the topic of names, I want to share something personal, tender, and meaningful with you…
Many of you have known me as Iysha over the years.
At the young age of 13 years old, I decided to change my preferred name to “Iysha” — a pivot from my birth name and legal name “Ayesha”
Same pronunciation (👁️ - sha), just different spelling.
The truth is, I didn’t choose that spelling from a place of deep knowing. It was suggested to me by someone in my life at the time.
They told me the new spelling had “better energy” (you know… that kind of vague, mystical logic that sounds profound when you’re very young and impressionable 😅)
They told me that it would align me with something more spiritual, more powerful, more right.
And guess what? Instead of listening to myself, I listened to them.
I also hoped that with the new spelling, people might actually pronounce my name correctly.
I was young. My voice felt small.
I was afraid to correct people. Afraid to be misunderstood.
So I adapted. I people-pleased. I made it easier for everyone else.
Iysha became the name I carried publicly.
For years, I’ve felt the quiet nudge to return to Ayesha.
To ❤️🔥 reclaim ❤️🔥 the name I was born with.
To stop outsourcing my intuition, and start embodying the woman I came here to be.
So I listened. This time, not to them, but to ME.
I reclaimed Ayesha.
My full name is
Ayesha Jenna Nobes
Let me tell you why this name means so much to me.
Symbolically and somatically:
✨ Ayesha is an Arabic word that means womanly, lively, and feminine leader.
✨ Jenna or Jena is also an Arabic word meaning “heaven” - and I deeply relate this to the womb, which is seen as the gateway to heaven, the passageway for a soul to be brought into physical form.
✨ Nobes, derived from “noble,” speaks to integrity, dignity, and the sacred role of leadership.
So when I speak my name now, I’m naming and claiming the womanly, noble, feminine leader of the womb/heaven. A name I will dedicate my life to living up to and embodying.
To be frank… it kind of scares the sh*t out of me to live up to this name. AND, it also lights me up SO much. Both ❤️
Let this be your sacred reminder that your name is not just a label.
It’s a frequency.
And the frequency of my name, Ayesha Jenna Nobes, is one I’m finally ready to live into fully - in my work, in my relationships, in my embodiment, and in my service to women and the sacred feminine.
It’s A LOT to live up to. And, I accept the challenge 🔻💦 🐅🩸
Thank you for witnessing me in this reclamation 🐅
Today I invite you to lovingly speak your own name. You to you.
You might be surprised what awakens in your body when you do.
