Self Breast Massage Mini Course

A guided journey into the emotional, energetic, and physiological power of self breast massage

Your breasts carry stories.
Of love. Of loss. Of shame. Of nourishment. Of being seen…or not.

I know as much as anyone how many stories we can harbour around the space of the breasts.

We tell ourselves: They’re too much, they’re not enough, they’re too sexual, they’re imbalanced or uneven.

For years I shamed my own breasts, telling myself that they were too small, uneven, and that nobody would ever love them.
I also used to have tender, fibrocystic nodules in my breasts that would constantly irritate me, and I didn’t know what to do about it.

But then I realized, when we have fibrotic tissue in our backs, legs, or hips, we don’t just leave it. We massage it. We roll it out. We seek support to break it down and restore healthy tissue.

And the breasts are no different.

They need this kind of tending.
And yet, we skip over this part of the body entirely, or only pay attention to it during sexual activity, breastfeeding, or medical exams.

🧠 Why This Matters (Science Meets Sacred)

When we touch our own breasts with presence, oxytocin is released - the hormone responsible for bonding, pleasure, and emotional regulation.

Breast massage also supports:

  • Lymphatic drainage (key for immune and breast health)

  • Relief from fibrocystic nodules and tenderness

  • Fascia softening and emotional tension release

  • Reconnection to pleasure and self-trust

Breast Massage FAQs

  • Breast massage is generally safe and deeply nourishing for most people. However, if you have any of the following conditions, please consult your healthcare provider before practicing:

    • Recent breast surgery or injury – Allow full healing before introducing massage.

    • Breast implants or reductions – Check with your doctor about any specific precautions.

    • Mastitis or active infection – Avoid massage until the infection has cleared.

    • Recent radiation or cancer treatment – Speak with your medical team about whether massage is appropriate.

  • While breast massage can awaken sexual energy, this practice is about self-connection, nourishment, and sensual embodiment rather than goal-oriented arousal. It’s an invitation to explore pleasure in a way that is deeply healing and empowering.

  • There’s no strict rule! Some women love making it a daily ritual, while others practice a few times a week or as needed.

  • Yes, but with mindfulness. Pregnancy and postpartum bring shifts in breast sensitivity, so it’s important to go gently and honour what feels good. If you’re breastfeeding, be mindful of milk flow and comfort. As always, consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.

  • That’s completely normal! Many of us carry unconscious shame, numbness, or disconnect around our breasts. If resistance comes up, approach it with curiosity rather than force. Start slow, breathe, and remind yourself that you are reclaiming this space with love and patience.
